Convenience and Access
Chatswood offers a world class retail shopping precinct with several large shopping centres including Westfield and Chatswood Chase. It is a major transport and commercial intersection connecting Sydney’s Northern Beaches, the Upper North Shore and the Ryde/Macquarie commercial powerhouse, and Chatswood railway station is the main station and junction for the North Shore line and the Macquarie railway line.
Hospitals and Schools
North Shore Private Hospital and the Royal North Shore (public) Hospital are very close – they are next to each other and towards the city near St Leonards and both primary and secondary schools are located within the area and in surrounding suburbs. Other local hospitals include the Macquarie University Private Hospital.
Chatswood has both public and private primary and secondary schools, including:

59.3% of dwellings are units, flats or apartments so living is compact and affordable yet close to major transport hubs, shopping and industrial areas and several recent high-rise developments, including two towers above the Chatswood railways station and a new Meriton Apartment building will increase the percentage of flats in the area.
